Critique for the Bath and Western Counties Bulldog Club
Championship Show held at Yate Leisure Centre on the
9^th April 2011. Judge Mr John Smith(Lauwin).

I would like to thank the committee of the Bath and Western Counties Bulldog club
For inviting me to Judge my first Championship Show.
I would also like to thank all the exhibitors, giving me an excellent entry of 140 dogs.
Also my thanks go to the two Stewards on the day for running the ring most efficiently.
At the moment there is more quality with the Bitches than the Dogs which made my
Decisions in Judging the Bitch Classes far harder.
A few lame dogs on the day but hopefully can be sorted out in the future.
I was very pleased with the overall quality of all the dogs exhibited and as always
Temperament was excellent.

Class 1; Veteran Dog or Bitch

1^st Phillips; Glyndee Scarlet Ribbons.
     R/W Seven years old. Standard size bitch. Pleasing expression, strong foreface, dark
     eye, shoulders tacked on with a good topline. Good rear angulation, moved well
     showed and handled well.

2^nd Jay; B/W Nearly Nine years old enjoying his day. Great Spirit, in excellent condition
       for his age. Strong head, excellent substance.Well off for brisket and rib.Preferred
       movement of 1.

Class 2; Minor Puppy Dog.

1^st Freeman; Testwood Tom R/W. Lovely headed dog with good layback, broad nose,
     strong foreface with enough substance for his age.Moved and presented well.

2^nd Davies; Belgicshako-Ed Hardy B/W. Close decision with number one. Excellent
      head qualities, dark eye, broad nose good width of jaw excellent front and substance.
     Preferred movement of one on the day but movement will improve with maturity.

3^rd Turner; Dajomi Solid Rock

Class 3; Puppy Dog.

1^st Garside Iceglint I’m William R/W. Loved this dog flat broad skull with dark eyes
     well placed broad nose with good layback, with terrific up sweep and width of lower
     jaw. Tacked on shoulders, deep brisket with barrelled ribs and tuck up. Good topline
     and rear angulation,well let down hocks and powerful on the move.
     Hope he goes on and fulfils early promise.
     Well presented and handled.BPD.

2^nd Davis ; Ocobo Candyman Can W/R. Again very close to number one. Wide flat skull
      with good ear placement, dark eye with broad nose completing a strong foreface
      with good width and upsweep of lower jaw.Great front with well let down brisket
     plenty of rib with tuck up.Nice topline another day could swap with one. Preferred
      movement and balance of 1.

3^rd Turner; Birmingham Prince.

Class 4; Junior Dog

1^st Jones; SaintGeorges Flash Harry of Bandapart R/W. Best mover of the day.Lovely
     head qualities with correct ear placement dark eye, good layback with strong upsweep
     and width of jaw. Clean front tacked on shoulders, well off for brisket and rib with
     tuck up.Excellent topline and rear angulation. Well presented and in excellent hard
     condition. Pushed hard for top honours in final line up.

2^nd Mills; Somyway Lordswood Cocker R/W. Another quality dog, flat broad skull good
     up sweep and turn of under jaw.Shoulders tacked on with good depth brisket, well
     ribbed good topline and good on the move. Well presented and handled. Preferred
     movement and overall quality of one.

3^rd Goodwin; Britihspride Knight and Day.

Class 5; Novice Dog

1^st Seal; Sealaville He’s Ashley F/W. Caught my eye straight away.Stunning head with
     flat broad skull, correct ear placement, strong foreface. Excellent dark eye good lay
     back leading to excellent width and upsweep of lower jaw. Beautiful clean front
     with tacked on shoulders well off for brisket with huge rib, tuckup and excellent
    topline. Good rear angulation held his shape and was powerful on the move.Presented
    and handled well. D.C.C. and B.I.S.

2^nd Davies; Mystyle Aladdin Ocobo R/W. Another strong male with superb head qualities
     good width of skull with excellent ear and eye placement. Good layback with a good
     width and upsweep of lower jaw.Excellent front with straight forelimbs,and good
     width and depth of brisket.Good ribs and tuckup. Good on the move. Just preferred
     confirmation and balance of 1

3^rd Daws; Outdoors Piper.

Class   6;   Post Graduate Dog

1^st Mills; Somyway Lordswood Cocker As two in Junior Dog.

2^nd Gee; Jaminic Inquisition W/R. Good width and length of skull.Nice ear placement
       with a dark eye and good length of fore face, good front and well off for brisket
       and rib.Moved well.Presented and handled well. Preferred overall confirmation and
       balance of 1

3^rd Davies; Kismond Nordic Sunset JW.

Class 7; Limit Dog

1^st Lamont; Laroyal Luther King JW. Nice head properties good width and length of
      skull, good ear and eye placement,and good turn and upsweep of under jaw.
     Excellent width and depth of brisket,barrelled ribs and nice topline.
      Moved,presented and handled well.

2^nd. Pearce; Sodburybull Coldplay.W. Good flat length and width of skull.Good dark eye,
       good lay back with strong true lower jaw. Powerfull front with deep brisket, straight
       forelegs. In excellent condition showed and handled well. Close decision.Preferred
       shape of 1 on the move.

3^rdDavis; Sebyan Wilson Ocobo.

Class 8; Open Dog

1^st Harding;   CH Pringham’s Rock Star R/W. Top quality Bulldog superb head
       qualities with correct ear and eye placement. Dark eye, good layback with good
      width and upsweep of lower jaw. Well off for substance, straight clean front with
      tacked on shoulders with big ribs and good tuck up.Excellent topline and rear
      angulation . Superb movement,handled to perfection. R.D.C.C.

2^nd Britishpride; Britishpride Creed R/W. Another top quality Bulldog immaculately
       presented, strong head with good width and length of fore face.dark eye, good
       width and upsweep of under jaw. Square front well off for brisket and rib, moved
      well and also handled to perfection.Preferred of 1 on the day.

3^rd Roberts; Malcom’s Little Viking At Isgraig.

Class 9; Minor Puppy Bitch

1^st Paterson; Testwood Luck Be A Lady R/W. Attractive head qualities with good ear
      and eye placement dark eye and good layback.Nice square front with enough rib.
      Good top line nice movement.

2^nd   Jones and Hunt; Hiising Lovegame at Retrodaze.R/W. Another lovely babay good
        width of skull with nice length and depth of forface.Strong true jaw, good front with
        tacked on shoulders.Straight for limbs good ribs and nice topline.Well presented.
        Very close to one but preferred movement and balance on winner.

3^rd   Evans; Cute Country Princes.

Class 10; Puppy Bitch

1^st   Goodwin; Britishpride Fancy Free R/W. Beautiful feminine girl, gorgeous expression
        with dark eye good width of nose,great layback with true jaw. Superb front with
        tacked on shoulders, deep chest,barrelled ribs with tuck up.Excellent topline.
        Moved well and immaculateley handled and presented. B.P.B.and B.P.

2^nd Comben;Carasmalels Lady Madonna at Cheval R/W. Quality girl cobby type
       with great width and length of skull.Dark eye and true lower jaw.Excellent front
       with well let down brisket.Good ribs and rear angulation.Lovely girl really liked
       her but just shaded on movement on the day.

3^rd Hayward; Ocobo Candy Girl at Iron Spirit.

Class 11; Junior Bitch

1^st Dangerfield; Hillplace Florence of Bullfleet B/W. Balanced girl with lovely head
     qualities excellent nose placement terrific upsweep and width of lower jaw.Powerful
     front with tacked on shoulders, good rib and top line.Nice rear angulation with well
     let down hocks.

2^nd Lane; Iscraig Chorus Girl at Anjefan R/W. Loved the expression on this girl great
       width and length of skull, dark eye, good lay back with strong true jaw.Powerful
       front with good rib and tuck up.Moved well. Longer cast than 1, and on the day
      preferred over all balance and topline of 1.

3^rd Saxon; Bagibeli Betty Stogs.

Class 12; Novice Bitch

1^st Smith; Senidan Star Promise at Saint Rodemil R/W. Quality bitch with terrific width
      and length of skull,good ear placement,dark eye, good width of nose and nostrils and
      strong turned lower jaw. Powerful front with excellent shoulders and straight
      forelimbs.Big ribs good topline, moved and presented well.

2^nd Bannister; Andlares Late Fall R/W. Quality bitch with good width and length of
       skull,good nose placement with wide nostrils.Good front tacked on shoulders with
       terrific rib moved and presentd well. Preferred movement and front of one.

3^rd Goodwin; Britishpride Biba.

Class 13; Post Graduate Bitch

1^st Davies; Quintic Doris at Kismond JW W. Very attractive bitch,good head properties
      with good ear and eye placment, good nostrils,layback, and true jaw. Well off for
      brisket and rib, tacked on shoulders with good topline. Moved well and well handled
      Pushed hard for top honours in final line up.

2^nd Collins; Celticpride Dior at Croftthorn F/W. Another quality bitch. Strong head
       features, dark eye and good placement of nose. True jaw, great front, tacked on
       shoulders well ribbed and a good topline. Moved,showed and well presented.
       Preferred overall confirmation of 1 but very close.

3^rd .Dauphine - Simmonds; Senidan Golden Prospect.

Class 14; Limit Bitch
What a strong Class!

1^st Wain; Black Hope Sunny Peach,IMP FIN R/W. Another top quality bitch that
       pressed for top honours. Beautiful expression, with width and length
       of skull.Good layback with broad nose and nostrils. Strong,true lower jaw.Good
       width of front with deep brisket,straight forelegs down to tight feet.
       Terrific ribs,tuckup and topline.Good rear angulation.Moved well.

2^nd Ives; Ivabully Indecent Proposal.R/W Hard to split these two. Similar
       attributes to class winner.
      Very attractive bitch in great condition.Could change places with 1 on

3^rd Lees; Del Papiol Miss Davilora at Mellowmood.

Class 15; Open Bitch.

1^st. Lees; Ch Mellowmood One in a Million.R/W
      Name is appropriate.Beautiful feminine bitch that oozes style with substance.
      Didn’t disappoint when handling this Girl.She has a ring presence and showed
      Like a dream for her handler.
      Gorgeous head qualities with superb dark eye and nose placement.Wide nostrils
      Good layback and terrific width and upsweep of lower jaw.
      Square front,tacked on shoulders with great rib and tuck up.Lovely top line
      Well let down hocks with good rear angulation.
      Movement spot on,balanced and assured.Showed in beautiful condition.B.CC

       Another beautiful bitch which was a pleasure to go over.Slightly different type
       To the winner.Great head qualities again.So many positive attributes.Unfortunate
       To meet class winner today but I was still pleased to award her the R.BCC
